Partner and Family Law Attorney
Shannon McShay is a partner and co-owner of the Law Office of Daniel Hutto, PLLC. She helps lead the firm with a focus on thoughtful client service, practical guidance and strong advocacy for individuals and families navigating difficult legal matters.
Shannon’s practice is grounded in family law, including divorce, child custody, legal decision-making, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, orders of protection and post-decree matters.
Shannon understands that these cases often involve much more than legal filings or court appearances. They affect a client’s children, finances, home life and future stability. She works closely with each client to help them understand the process, evaluate their options and move forward with clarity.
Arizona Education and Professional Foundation
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, graduating summa cum laude. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Her academic achievements include the Pedrick Scholar Award for Academic Achievement, the ASU Alumni Medallion Scholarship and the Moeur Award for Academic Achievement. Her background in finance gives her a valuable foundation for family law matters involving property division, support issues and the financial decisions that can shape a client’s future long after a case is resolved.
Building a Career in Family Law
Before becoming a partner and co-owner of the Law Office of Daniel Hutto, Shannon built her career in family law, client relations and law firm leadership. Early in her career, she worked directly with clients on intake, case strategy, legal research, drafting, mediation, settlement conferences and court appearances. That experience gave her a clear understanding of what clients need during highly personal and often emotional legal disputes: honest communication, careful preparation and steady guidance.
As her career progressed, Shannon expanded her work beyond traditional case management. She helped lead client-service strategy, initial consultations, attorney support, client relations and daily operations within a high-volume family law practice. In that role, she developed a practical understanding of how strong representation depends not only on legal knowledge, but also on organization, responsiveness and trust from the first conversation forward.
That combination of legal experience and client-focused leadership continues to shape her approach today. Shannon brings discipline to complex legal issues and compassion to the personal circumstances behind them.
A Practical and Client-Focused Approach
Shannon is known for combining empathy with direct, practical advice. She takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, identify the issues that matter most and develop a path forward that reflects both the legal realities of the case and the personal stakes involved.
Whether a client is facing divorce, working through parenting-time issues, seeking support, addressing spousal maintenance, or trying to modify or enforce an existing court order, Shannon approaches each matter with preparation and purpose. She knows that clients often come to a family law attorney during one of the most difficult chapters of their lives, and she works to make the process feel more understandable and manageable.
Shannon remains committed to building a firm where clients receive clear communication, strong advocacy and personal attention from the first consultation through resolution.
